THE GEORGIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® ANNOUNCES 2008 LINE OFFICERS AND REGIONAL DIRECTORS
ATLANTA) – Bob Hamilton, RCE, Chief Executive Officer of the Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR), has announced the organization’s 2008 leadership team. Officers were sworn in on Friday, Feb. 8, at the President’s Inaugural Gala during GAR’s Inaugural Meeting in Hilton Head, S.C.
Van Johnson of Tucker has been sworn in as President. Johnson is a member of the DeKalb Association of REALTORS® and is Broker/Co-Owner of RE/MAX Executives Northlake. His past REALTOR® accomplishments include serving as president of the DeKalb Association in1990 and being the REALTOR® of the Year award recipient in both 1991 and 1997.. Johnson has earned his Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designations Johnson has served on numerous committees for GAR and is currently on the MLS Issues and Policies Committee, a Director for the National Association of REALTORS® and is helping to spearhead the “Why Buy Now? Ask a REALTOR®” campaign that will appear throughout the state this spring.
Steven Fischer of Savannah has been sworn in as President-Elect. Fischer is a member of the Savannah Board of REALTORS® and is Broker/Co-Owner of ERA Kelly & Fischer in Savannah.
Arlene Davis of Vidalia has been sworn in as Immediate Past President; Anne Gault of Alpharetta has been sworn in as Vice President of Governmental Affairs; Dana Bauguss of Lilburn has been sworn in as Vice President of Administration and Finance; Bill Boatman of Augusta has been sworn in as Vice President of Professional Development; and Robin Lance of Savannah has been sworn in Vice President of Communications and Public Relations.
Regional directors for the association are as follows: Region 1, Kristen Crisp Townsend of Marietta; Region 2, Chuck Jonaitis of Cumming; Region 3, Tom Wise of Rome; Region 4, Kristy Pennington of Lithonia; Region 5, Linda Carol Porterfield of Athens; Region 6, Derrick Shields of Columbus; Region 7, Barbara Watson of Leesburg; Region 8, Missy Lane of Brunswick; and Region 9, Hazel Hendrix of Statesboro.
