Purpose:
The Convention Committee shall assist the Georgia Association of REALTORS® staff with the planning, development and execution of the Inaugural Meeting and the Annual Convention and Trade Expo.
Composition:
Number on Committee: Seventeen
Chairman: Appointed by the President
Vice Chairman: Appointed by the President-Elect
Makeup: The Vice Chairman of the Partnership Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Professional Development Committee plus fifteen At-Large members. The President and President-Elect are ex-officio members.
Restrictions: No more than ten contributing members
Term: Two years (staggered)
Limits: N/A
Quorum: Six
Reporting: Vice President of Member and Public Services, Executive Committee, Board of Directors
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Shall organize and supervise the Inaugural Meeting and the Annual Convention and Trade Expo of the Georgia Association of REALTORS® in cooperation with the staff of the Georgia Association of REALTORS®
- Shall coordinate the First Time Attendee Orientation at the Inaugural Meeting and the Annual Convention and Trade Expo
- Shall prepare and submit for approval by the Finance and Executive Committees a detailed annual budget for the Inaugural Meeting and the Annual Convention and Trade Expo
- Shall assist with trade show/exhibits at the Annual Convention and Trade Expo in cooperation with the staff of the Georgia Association of REALTORS®
- Shall provide the Professional Development Committee with a proposed budget and tentative schedule of events no less than ten months prior to the Inaugural Meeting and the Annual Convention and Trade Expo
- Shall, within budgetary limitations, provide the audio visual and classroom set-up as needed for instructors
- All requests for funds are to be channeled through the Finance Committee for inclusion in its report to the Executive Committee as to the budgeting impact of such funds requests
- Shall perform such other duties as directed by the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee or the President
