New Instructor and/or Course Applications

Thank you for your interest in becoming an instructor and submitting courses to our Partners in Education Program. We only consider courses from our approved Georgia Association of REALTORS® (GAR) Partners in Education instructors.

Before completing any forms and applying to become an instructor or submit your course for consideration, please read the Instructor Information Sheet

To become an approved GAR Partners in Education instructor, please fill out the Instructor Application and return it to Michael Young at myoung@garealtor.com, along with your current bio (one or two paragraphs) and your photo (saved as a jpeg). After GAR receives this information, you may choose one of two options to become approved: you may attend our Instructor Training/Approval Workshop or you may attend the Georgia Instructor Training (GIT). For information on the Instructor Training/Approval Workshop please see the information below. For information on the Georgia Instructor Training (GIT), please visit the following link: http://www.grec-git.com/.

Our 2012 Instructor Training/Approval Workshops have not yet been scheduled. Registration deadlines are one month before each workshop. Registration slots are filled on a first come, first served basis.

The current registration fee is $100 (non-refundable) and includes lunch. To register, please contact Michael Young (678-597-4128) with your AmEx, MasterCard or VISA card number, expiration date and the credit card billing address. Or, you may mail a check to Michael Young, payable to GAR. (3200 Presidential Drive; Atlanta, GA 30340)

Workshop details:

  • Location: GAR office - 3200 Presidential Drive; Atlanta, GA 30340
  • Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m.
  • Starts promptly at 9:00 a.m.
  • Ends at 4:15 p.m.
  • Earn 6 GREC CE Credits (full-time attendance required and you must not have taken this workshop within the past 366 days)

All prospective instructors for GAR’s Partners in Education program must satisfactorily complete our Instructor Training/Approval Workshop or the GIT in advance of their names being placed before the GAR Professional Development Committee for approval.

As part of the approval process, applicants need to complete the training with satisfactory evaluations from the facilitators. After the training, the facilitators will report to the Professional Development Committee with their recommendations.

The Professional Development Committee will make the final decision as to whether you will become a GAR-approved instructor, eligible to teach through our school.

GAR’s Partners in Education program has few courses available for new instructors. Most course offerings belong to the author/instructor and are not available to others to teach. Therefore, new instructors should be prepared to submit their course(s) for approval by the GAR Professional Development Committee.

You may submit your application to become an instructor and any course approval requests at the same time. Of course, you must first be approved as an instructor before any of your classes could be considered by our school. To submit a course for approval, you must complete and submit the Course Approval Form, the Course Submission Checklist & Guidelines, course objectives and a timed outline to myoung@garealtor.com.

Once you have completed the required forms, please send all the necessary information to myoung@garealtor.com via email.

If you have any questions, please contact Michael Young at myoung@garealtor.com or 678-597-4128.
