Habitat's "ReStores" Help Buyers and Sellers with Furniture Needs 12 Sep 2012 - As a REALTOR®, you have undoubtedly come across many home sellers who are downsizing, moving in with family or transitioning into retirement communities. Then there are new home buyers who have spent a majority of their savings on a down payment and/or closing costs; however, they still need to purchase items to change that new house into a beautiful home! Habitat for Humanity has the solution for both—ReStore.
Habitat ReStore resale outlets accept new and gently used furniture, appliances and home furnishings from individuals, corporations and organizations for sale to the general public at a fraction of their retail price. Once inside a ReStore, your clients can find anything they need for their new home, from appliances to furniture, as well as art work and numerous decorative items!
Habitat ReStores also welcome reusable and excess building material. Please talk with your builders and contractors to let them know about this great opportunity to donate surplus building supplies to the closest ReStore. In most cases, many Habitat ReStores will gladly arrange to pick up donated goods.
Habitat is widely known for partnering with low-income families to improve neighborhoods and create safe, decent affordable housing through sustainable building and community partnerships. If your real estate office wants to give back to the community it’s as simple as spreading the word to current, past and future clients!
Please visit Habitat.org or contact Heather Sandoval to learn more about how you can get involved to take advantage of tax deductions and support your clients and local community with Habitat for Humanity. Click here to find out more about Habitat ReStore, including locations throughout Georgia. |
